Meet the Therapist

James Gadson-Woods III, MSW, LMSW

“I believe therapy should be a place where you can show up exactly as you are — without judgment, pressure, or the expectation that you have everything figured out.”

As a Licensed Social Worker and trauma-informed clinician, James approaches therapy with curiosity, compassion, and a deep respect for each person's story. He believes our experiences live not only in our thoughts and emotions, but also in our bodies and nervous systems — which is why he integrates EMDR, mindfulness, and somatic, sound-based practices that honor the connection between mind, body, and nervous system.

His goal is to create a space where you feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to explore, and empowered enough to create meaningful change. Whether you're navigating trauma, anxiety, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, you don't have to navigate it alone. His practice is affirming for LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC clients — identity, community, and lived experience are never treated as separate from the clinical work.

Master of Social Work (MSW), Mental Health Counseling — Clark Atlanta University, Aug 2023–May 2025. Currently pursuing a PhD in Social Work Policy, Planning, and Administration at Clark Atlanta University, Aug 2025–Present.
